Mountain Engagement Session

This couple spends all their spare time in the mountains. Like many Albertans, the rugged landscape is a huge part of their relationship. It only made sense to capture them in their element.Lacey_Pete_-2 Lacey_Pete_-4 Lacey_Pete_-6 Lacey_Pete_-7 Lacey_Pete_-9 Lacey_Pete_-14 Lacey_Pete_-20 Lacey_Pete_-23 Lacey_Pete_-26 Lacey_Pete_-33 Lacey_Pete_-38 Lacey_Pete_-43 Lacey_Pete_-44 Lacey_Pete_-45 Lacey_Pete_-51 Lacey_Pete_-53 Lacey_Pete_-55 Lacey_Pete_-56 Lacey_Pete_-66 Lacey_Pete_-83 Lacey_Pete_-87 Lacey_Pete_-89 Lacey_Pete_-92 Lacey_Pete_-95

Getting caught up and sharing some of my recent work ;)

Just a schedule notice--June is pretty much full. I have a couple of weekday spots available and that is it. May is pretty packed as well. Sooooooo....booking with flexibility isn't happening until July. If you are hoping to have a session with me this summer, you should act fast.

Thanks!

Dana

Sophia Models

I have been super duper busy moving and setting up my fabulous new studio space. But, that doesn't mean that I haven't been shooting! I have...I just haven't been sharing. Thought I'd take the opportunity to share a few headshots from a recent shoot I did for Sophia Models. They are updating their child roster and I have been hired as the exclusive photographer for their headshots. If you think your child might have the right stuff, contact them to learn more ;)Sophia_01 Sophia_02 Sophia_03

**and there are 5 spots left for my Celebrating Mother's Event. Makes the perfect Mother's day gift ;)

5 Minutes On Abraham Lake

I went to the infamous Abraham Lake on Valentine's day hoping to catch a few images of the methane bubbles that get trapped in the ice there. Sadly, the unusually warm weather meant that they only lasted for a very brief period of time this year. We were sad because it was something we all REALLY wanted to experience. Plus, I was doing a 5 Minute Project around the word 'capture' and I thought the bubbles would be perfect. Oh well...we made the best of it. Such a beautiful part of the rockies that we had never really explored before. So nice and QUIET...sometimes the mountains can be so crowded ;)Calgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh)danapugh.com Calgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh) danapugh.com Calgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh) danapugh.com _S5C3185 Calgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh) danapugh.com Calgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh) danapugh.comCalgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh)danapugh.comCalgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh)danapugh.com Calgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh) danapugh.com Calgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh) danapugh.com Calgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh) danapugh.com Calgary Family Photographer (Photo by Dana Pugh) danapugh.com

In the second last image, you can see the bubbles a bit, but they were too deep to photograph well. We clearly tried to break through the ice a bit...the top layers had melted and refroze a couple of times and were easy to break through, but still couldn't get close enough to the bubbles(don't worry, we saw an ice fisherman who showed us that the ice was 17" thick on that part of the lake). I am determined to go back next year in late January so as not to miss them. Who's with me? Shall we organize a group to go together?
