The first day of school always feels like the beginning of a new year for me. This year is no exception. So, to kick off the new year, I have decided to launch my first of many monthly studio specials. Every month, I am going to have a special offer available in my studio(and sometimes some cool monthly events!). This month, I am bringing back a special that premiered last year and was a huge success--TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL PORTRAITS!!!
How about getting COOL school portraits this year? Modern images that truly show your child's personality? For the month of September take advantage of this special to get beautiful, modern portraits of your child to mark the new school year.
$50(+gst) per child for the session and one digital file.
Additional files can be purchased like this:
- $75 for 2 digital files
- $150 for 5 digital files
- $200 for one child's entire gallery
Sessions must take place at the Okotoks studio in the month of September. Sessions take approximately 5-10 minutes per child and are limited in availability. When multiple siblings are booked at once, one sibling shot will be taken and made available for purchase on top of the individual packages. Prints, canvas, and press printed cards are also available for purchase. Heck--we will even print off a cool sheet of wallets if that's how you roll ;)

For my entire career, I have been meeting with this family. It has truly been my pleasure to watch these incredible kids grow up. I mean...I probably shouldn't say that I have photographs of this little girl with her 'blankie'. No, really!! How old does that make me? When they purchased this house and it's FABULOUS pool, we immediately hatched a plan to one day do a session in it. I am so grateful that the kids(and the grown ups) trusted me to show up with my crazy camera and BATHING SUIT to capture these images for them. Summer is now fading fast and I'm already wishing I had taken the time to get in the water more. It might just be the perfect year for a HOT vacation ;)

I had the pleasure of documenting my first Hindu/Christian wedding over the Canada Day weekend this year. To me, it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day--seeing two cultures come together to celebrate family and love. You see the thing is, around the world, people really are mostly the same. They just want the best for their families and the ones that the love. The differences between us--these are the things we must celebrate and enjoy about each other. And, as a proud Canadian, I feel that our country does a great job of welcoming people from other countries, but, at the same time, encouraging them to maintain their heritage.
The father of the bride remarked about how his children had all married different cultures--one daughter married a Ukrainian, his son married a Vietnamese girl and now his other daughter had married an Indian. He said 'imagine the grandchildren!!!' ;) but I thought to myself how CANADIAN is this?
I want to say thank you to two lovely families who welcomed me, fed me, danced with me, and shared their amazing traditions with me. To the aunties who sat at my table....I promise to email you a link to the gallery so you can download all of the images! Here is a sneak peek...enjoy!
